Welcome to MRMA PDF Print E-mail

HONESTY / INTEGRITY / DEDICATION TO RESIDENTIAL MANAGEMENT is the code MRMA follows developed by Mike Venable, founder of MRMA.

The importance of the position of RESIDENT MANAGER is several fold:

  • WE represent a "community" of citizens whose lives can be peaceful, secure and without the daily hassles life offers outside the "community" in which they live. The ultimate outcome of the preceding is in the hands of the Resident Manager, no one else.
  • Owners (AOAO) and their investment ultimately is decided by the everyday professional habits of their RESIDENT MANAGER. The "bottom line" belongs in his/her hands as to whether or not they receive an appreciable return on that investment.
  • In extreme cases, life and death decisions are in the hands of the RESIDENT MANAGER, no one else. Therefore it is imperative that a RESIDENT MANAGER can earn the respect he/she deserves through hard work and dedication to his/her profession.

MRMA was formed with the following aspirations:

  • Develop a close working relationship with HPD to increase patrolling our side streets in our community where our children play and our elderly walk to and from our buildings.
  • Develop a close working relationship with the vendors who work in our buildings (common areas) and in the apartments needing their services. The main scope is concentrated in the areas of quality workmanship and safety commensurate to the requirements of MRMA.
  • Develop a close working relationship with property management companies in the areas of communication between the Resident Manager, the Board of Directors and the Management Executive of the respective company. Ultimately these entities can only operate within the realm of the decision and recommendations of the Resident Manager. Consequently, rational and timely decisions depend of good communication between these parties and the Resident Manager. As a result "networking" between Resident Managers of MRMA is imperative. Input from each active member is the key.

MRMA is committed to pulling everyone together in an effort to improve all that is related to community living and to provide an atmosphere of pride to the citizens and owners we serve.

Starting with only three members, MRMA grew quickly from the immediate area of Mo'ili'ili to now include Building Managers throughout the Island of Oahu. When the Association's continued growth moved beyond Mo'ili'ili, it was considered, at one point, to change the name to the Oahu Resident Managers' Association, but the founders came to the conclusion that its "roots" were in the Mo'ili'ili area and the name should remain.

MRMA is open to all Building Managers in Hawai'i at NO COST for membership, and MRMA continues to enjoy steady growth throughout the community and will reflect that growth on their web site. The Mo'ili'ili Resident Managers' Association (MRMA) was founded by 3 Resident Managers in the Mo'ili'ili neighborhood of Honolulu in March of 1999. The generous support from our commercial, residential and professional Associate Sponsors makes it possible for the MRMA meetings to be a success.
